School Governors - Our Targets 2010/11

Each year the school has a number of targets, which set out the priorities for the year. For the 2010–11 these are:

Standards and attainment: Ensure that every child makes at least two levels of progress between the end of year 2 and the end of year 6. Also ensure tracking of pupils in the Early Years is effective so that accurate targets are set in key stage 1.

Quality of education: Ensure that the quality of teaching and the school environment are of the highest possible standard and enable all children to make progress, academically and socially.

Leadership and management: Make sure all staff (teachers, support staff, administrators and governors) have clearly demarcated roles and responsibilities and are accountable for the academic and social well-being of the children.

Global awareness: Increase children’s awareness of the wider world and the challenges we face as a global community. The school will do this through the Eco Schools programme, sustainability initiatives and links with schools around the world.

Earlsfield in the community: Put the school at the heart of the community and make sure it is a school the community can be proud of.

Children as future leaders: Help children understand that we all have responsibility for making the world a harmonious place to live. The school will promote responsibility, care and respect for others. As part of this it will become a UNICEF rights respecting school.

The targets are set by the school’s senior management team in discussion with the governing body and a representative from Wandsworth Council.  Each governor is also allocated a ‘link area’ relating to these priorities, which help us to monitor and evaluate progress. For more on our targets, see the School Improvement Plan
