Global Links

Throughout the curriculum, both for Topic and whole school events, the school tries to make as many global links as it can. Our curriculum aims to encourage children to be reflective not only on their learning but about their social responsibility at both a local and global level. They are encouraged to look at global issues such as recycling, deforestation, poverty and education.

Historically our school has linked to many schools around the globe in order to enhance the learning in topics and create a greater understanding of the lives of children their age who live in other countries.

One example of this:

We worked in collaboration with Mandir Marg Primary School in Delhi, India. Through this partnership, the Year 4 children in both schools learnt about each other’s lives, communities and countries from first-hand experience; literally bringing learning to life! This project enabled the teachers in both schools to work together to plan exciting topics, focusing on global issues which affect both of our communities. Through ‘Global School’s Partnership’ we were able to facilitate a teacher exchange.

Global Learning Experts 2015-16

Through our global links and our school’s commitment to the, “Rights Respecting School Agenda,” we were asked to be experts for the Global Learning Programme 2015-16, where over the course of a year, we offered training to staff from 15 other schools in order to share good practice and develop their global curriculum.
