2016 Latest:

The last few years we have been working towards raising money towards the new playground and now have a very healthy £40,000 to put towards it. Project work is underway for the playground, so we are now raising money for other school projects including a kitchen that can be used for classes and clubs

So far this Autumn term, we've already raised nearly £3,000 including money from the cake sale and brilliantly successful school disco.

About the PTA

As part of the school community, every parent/carer and teacher is automatically a member of the PTA. Earlsfield PTA has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, and with more classes, pupils and parents/carers than ever before, it can only become better. The PTA is an integral part of the school community, raising thousands of pounds for new school equipment and resources to enhance our children’s lives.

But it's more than just fundraising. The PTA helps to provide closer links between the school and parents/carers, and it's an excellent way in which to bring together parents and staff socially, whilst we all work towards the same goal. As Earlsfield has such a diverse and culturally enhancing intake of children, we try to encourage events which embrace this diversity, but only through your help can they grow each year and get better.

The Committee and Class Reps

The PTA committte currently consists of 6 members so it's generally easy to grab one of us in the playground if you want anything or need any questions answered.

The committee for 2016-2017 are:

Lucy Parry – Co-chair Bex Knott - Co-chair

Marleine Younan - Co-chair

Becca Lallonde - Co-chair
Nicki Saker – Treasurer

We meet every 2 weeks or so to discuss the plans for the forthcoming term and year, with general meetings open to all taking place one a term, and class rep meetings as required depending on forthcoming events.

Each event, whether a cake sale or larger events such as the quiz, school disco or Christmas shopping night, is led by a year group which normally follows up the school years, (for example if an event was run by reception in 2015, it will follow them into year 1 in 2016) meaning it's easier to run through familiarity with the event, and how to run it.

Each class has 2 representatives (Reps) who act as a point of contact between the committee and class group, and are the social organiser for their class. The class reps help organise year events, such as discos, quizzes or cake sales and run stalls at the Christmas and summer fairs. Class reps normally have their position for one year but often more!

Meetings

There is an AGM in September each year to which everyone is invited to attend. The treasurer presents a review of funds raised from the previous year and where the money has been spent within the school.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES

Our regular fundraising activities include:

Cake sales
These are always popular for obvious reason and generally held on a Friday before half term at pickup time outside, or under the sheltered area in the front playground. All cake and biscuit donations - homemade or shop bought, as long as they're NUT FREE (in line with school policy) - are welcome!

Quiz Night

Run in the spring term, this is fun - and quietly competitive - evening for everyone. Teams of 6 compete for great prizes and bragging rights (no trophy though, sorry)

Second hand uniform sales

Run two to three times a year, the second hand uniform sales are a great way to pass on your grown-out-of bits, and pick up some new stuff at bargain prices.

Christmas Shopping Night

Run separately from the Christmas fair so you can browse at your leisure, this is great opportunity to get some of your Christmas shopping done. Brilliant local businesses offer unique gifts to suit everyone's tastes including scarves, jewellery, pictures, seasonal foodstuffs and stocking fillers. It's a great way to find something different than on the high street, and help raise profits for the school.

Christmas Fair

Festive fun for the whole school! Our Christmas fair is run on a Friday after school with activities, games and stalls for everyone. Have a go on the human fruit machine, buy some fun stocking fillers, enjoy a cake, mince pie and cup of tea or mulled wine, and maybe you'll win something in the ever-popular chocolate and bottle tombolas!

Summer Fair

The highlight of the PTA events year, our summer fair is always lots of fun with games, stalls, raffle and tree of promises with great prizes, BBQ, music, facepainting and temporary tattoos. Lots of fun to be had by all!

Disco

We do two discos a year, and they're always a sell out. The kids love them and it's fun for parents too.

Christmas cards

Cards and gift designed by your kids to send to friends and family.

Give as you live

If you shop online this is a brilliant and easy way to raise money for the school. Visit www.giveasyoulive.com, create an account where you select Earlsfield Primary School as your charity of choice, and then whenever you shop online - Sainsbury's, Tesco, Boots, John Lewis, Amazon, Argos, it's supported by over 4000 retailers - a percentage of your shop goes back to the school. Brilliant, huh? You can adownload a widget to your desktop browser, or go via the website or app.

Bag 2 the Future

Need to clear out your wardrobes? Well don't despair, save your clothes and help the school! Two to three times a year we run a collection of any old (but still useable) clothes. A collection bag will be send home, you just fill it and bring it back in to school. The PTA gets paid per kg of stuff donated, you get a nice uncluttered home!
